Classic City Hi-Fi Repair exclusively specializes in the repair and restoration of vintage stereo components from the golden age of HiFi prior to 1980.  Restoration projects successfully completed for our clients include vintage Pioneer, Sansui, Marantz, and McIntosh, Harman Kardon, and The Fisher.

 

I am a fanatic for vintage hifi from the golden age.  As an owner of many classic systems I operate on the principle the art and engineering deserved to be preserved.  Most of my clients bring me systems with history - sometimes family memories or time growing up in the 1970’s.  I carefully restore their treasures respecting the value to the owner.   A few of my completed projects are included in the gallery tab.

 

Located in Athens, Georgia and accepting repair/restorations on a reservation basis, I understand how frustrating it can be to not be given reliable estimates of time to repair/restore and cost for vintage stereo equipment.  Working by reservation means you understand exactly when the work will start.  Typically I notify the client two weeks before the reserved slot to confirm the repair and arrange delivery of the equipment.  I don’t take projects in that sit on the self before starting the project.
